Product Overview
The Polyethylene Guide Strips are designed to use with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners. The guide strips are generally made up of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE). The UHMW is an extremely tough plastic with high abrasion and wear resistance. These strips offer low friction surfaces and high resistance to chemicals used in manufacturing. The polyethylene strips are preferred in some applications because they do not break down after tremendous wear and tear caused by mechanical components, many of which can get very hot during the manufacturing process. They guide, and support and are designed to eliminate too much belt movement. Vibration is typically reduced by using these strips, as well. These smooth strips are attached to the guardrails that guide products through the belt system. The GE product is an innovation and technology which fits well into versatile customer needs. It is manufactured using high precision techniques which helps to achieve a good surface finish as well as good product consistency.
