Product Overview

An O-Ring also known as a packing, or a toric joint is a gasket or a seal in the form of a ring with a circular cross section used to prevent leakage of fluids. It is seated in a groove and compressed between two or more parts thereby creating a seal at the interface.O-rings are made of a variety of material including Viton, Neoprene, Silicone, EPR, PTFE, PU or Nitrile Rubber (also known as BUNA-N). This 17 mm O-Ring is made up of a Silicone Compound that is flexible, fungal growth, UV and ozone exposure, and weathering. Silicone offers good temperature resistance and mechanical properties but it is not suitable for use with petroleum based oils, or acids. Silicone O-rings act as an excellent leak barrier and are widely used with Breathing Gas Circuits (BCG). This seal or gasket is used in GE's Anesthesia Delivery Systems.
